Last time I was in England, Gregg’s had just come out with a vegetarian sausage roll, but every time I tried to buy one, they were sold out! That made my heart happy, so I didn’t even mind that I didn’t get to try one. And now I can make them at home whenever I want!
Ingredients
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, defrosted and quartered
1/2 roll Gimme Lean sausage, at room temperature and sliced into 4 thin and long slices
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On each piece of puff pastry, place a slice of sausage towards one long side, leaving a small border of pastry. Wet the border with a tiny bit of water. Fold pastry over the top of the sausage and press along the border to seal. If desired, seal the open ends by wetting with water and pressing firmly together. Place seam side down on a baking tray. Using a serrated knife, make small horizontal cuts along the top of the pastry. Place in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until the bottoms are deep brown and the tops are golden brown. Let cool for 2 minutes.
